Party, party, party!
The Brief
The couple, owners of one of Hong Kong? hippest nightclubs, wanted a weekend of parties to celebrate with their friends. They weren? after the cliche wedding look; they wanted something more laid-back and cool ... a little rocker chic in the midst of hip Ubud (where, incidentally, Mick Jagger had one of his weddings).
Highlights
Wedding Ceremony Venue: Four Seasons Sayan? stunning lily pond with views of the lush green gorge below. Absolute peace and tranquility for a ceremony officiated by a Rinpoche.
Accommodation: Buyout of Four Seasons Sayan and Uma Ubud, with overflow of guests staying at Begewan Giri Estates and Kayumanis.
Wedding Night Poolside Party: Imagine a scene of divers fishing for bottles at the bottom of an infinity-edge pool, with disco lights flashing off the surface of the water and cool sounds spinning from the poolside lounge courtesy of a DJ flown in from Paris.
Save-the-date: Handmade, save-the-date invitations using a real leaf (the groom? family is in the artificial plants business and the leaf also fit in with the Tropical theme). The invitations were stunning to receive; as each measured more than 2 feet in length.
Welcome Pack: In line with the couple? penchant for entertaining their friends at their club, as well as their friends' love of partying, each guest was greeted with a Wedding Weekend Survival Kit in their room. The kits contained: extra strength Panadol, natural insect repellent, condoms, a pack of Kleenex for the teary-eyed, custom-published guide to the weekend and Ubud/Seminyak area with a funny useful phrases section and a souvenir all placed in a custom-designed airline sick bag ... just in case.
Table gift: A bottle of J&B, reflecting their desire to share their high spirits, love of spirits and their common initials.
Guest concierge services: Taking RSVPs, answering queries, arranging flights, hotel, transportation, local activity bookings and other individual requirements for all 180 guests flying in from many different countries.
Crisis management: Arranging a last-minute villa party due to a last-minute cancellation of an excursion to Seminyak for clubbing due to heightened security risks in the area.
Security: Ensuring that hotels did not breach confidentiality and did not allow outsiders into the resorts during the weekend due to a fear of paparazzi disturbing the guests.
